Book Trust – Awards Ceremony

150 Guests

Last month we hosted Book Trusts National Schools Reading Competition Awards in the River Room

The Event

Book Trust is the largest reading charity in the UK, working to inspire young individuals to love books. The National Schools Reading Competition Awards is a celebration for individuals who have excelled. The Over 150 children from across England were invited to receive prizes for reading extraordinary numbers of books or for winning the title of ‘Reading Legends’.

Special Features

For many of the children it was their first visit to the capital city and they enjoyed watching the boats on the thames and view of St Pauls Cathedral from the River Room. The rainbow LED lighting and book arch also added to the fun of the event. Entertainment was provided by the wonderful author of the Murder Most Unladylike series Robin Stevens, and a sketch was done by the Horrible Histories team, from their Barmy Britain show.
