Glaziers Hall Delivers Knock-Out Performance for High Profile Press Conference

150

Timing is everything when it comes to generating excitement around a major sporting occasion. With the announcement that Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn would take to the ring, Glaziers Hall was chosen as the preferred venue for the official press launch.

With previous experience of similar events, the team came together to make all arrangements with no time to spare. In just 24-hours, the stage was set.

The Need

For this event to be a success, the client needed multiple spaces, each with their own use and purpose. The ability to move people quickly and efficiently between suites was also a priority to accommodate the itinerary for the day.

Accessibility and parking were also important. With two sporting superstars visiting the site and attracting a lot of attention, the safety and security of the boxers and those attending was paramount.

The Experience

With seven suites to choose from, we were able to create a red-carpet entrance in the foyer, reminiscent of a film premiere. As well as creating the right atmosphere, media had the space to conduct interviews with the two boxers, promoters, and trainers as they came into the building.

The Banqueting Hall, adjacent to the foyer, became the stage for the official press conference. Adding a sense of occasion and grandeur, the style of d cor with chandelier lighting and elaborate drapes made the perfect backdrop.

With the latest 1 gigabit fibre-optic internet link, along with 4G backup and WIFI mesh network to WIFI 6 standards, digital connectivity was not a problem, providing journalists with the functionality they needed to capture and share all content. What is more, the event was live streamed across multiple platforms, which was supported by the digital network, providing additional confidence for the production company and promoters.

Once the press briefing was over and photographs taken, it was on to the Thames Suite and Bridge Suite. Both offering comfortable, bright, light and airy green rooms for each of the boxers and their support teams.

The River Suite provided the perfect space for extended interviews for TV broadcast, with a stunning backdrop of the City and panoramic views of the Thames. The floor to ceilings windows delivered the natural light for filming purposes.

Finally, the Library offered an interesting backdrop for the filming of The Face Off TV programme, which is always captured in a darkened space to add further atmosphere and tension as the face-to face questions with a broadcast interviewer take place.

The Results

The team at Glaziers Hall were on hand from the moment the first call came into the sales desk, right through to the minute the last promoter left the building.

Working to a very tight timescale, this was an ideal event to put the spotlight on the professionalism, experience, versatility of space and digital connectivity that we have here at Glaziers Hall.

As with any event, the team worked together to make sure that every detail was covered and that every need of the client was met.

With exclusive hire, each suite could be used for a different purpose, yet the layout meant that people could be moved from one area to another quickly and with minimal disruption. There was no margin for error with this event and we are very pleased to share that it was a huge success.

In fact, we would go as far as to say that it was a knock-out performance!
