When you’re visiting London, there’s plenty to see and do. Whether you’re planning a family trip or coming down to the capital for work, there’s something for everyone.
When heading to the South Bank you will see Glaziers Hall sat proudly beside London Bridge. An unassuming building, you could be forgiven for having absolutely no idea what takes place behind its doors.
Let us take you behind the scenes…
A venue like no other
Glaziers Hall is a Livery building and remains home to the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass, the Worshipful Company of Launderers, and the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers.
This heritage is very subtly referenced throughout the building with artefacts and artworks on display and the crests of each of the Liveries featured on the walls and on the backs of the chairs.
Within the venue there are seven spaces, each with its own character and charm. Not only does this add interest and intrigue for those visiting, but it provides opportunity for event planners too.
Versatile spaces
Whatever the event you are planning, with capacity for up to 350 people, there is a space that can be adapted to meet with your needs. At Glaziers Hall, we often speak to people about the versatility at the venue.
In any given week we can have business meetings, global conferences, science-based learning activities for families, murder mystery events, cocktail tasting and whisky showcases, boxing press events and even weddings!
No two days at Glaziers Hall are ever the same and that is what makes working at the venue so exciting.
Optimising every occasion
Rather than just hiring spaces, when you work with our team at Glaziers Hall, you get a dedicated account manager who will support you from the very start. It is their job to provide you with help and advice to ensure your event is the very best it can be.
With seven spaces to choose from, our team know which rooms will work best and for what purpose. As an example, it could be a formal dinner in the Banqueting Suite or a working lunch in the River Room, with panoramic views across to the City of London.
More structured events, such as roundtable sessions or briefings, may be better placed in the Court Room, which is complemented by the Library adjacent. With its traditional style, it is ideal for corporate functions. Then there is the Bridge and Thames rooms which are great for offsite meetings.
Finally, there is the London Bridge Arches, which is a beautiful space, with interconnecting stone archways. Amplifying the heritage of the building, this room is a powerful example of what makes Glaziers Hall so different from a typical event space. It is ideal for intimate events, such as launches or private dinners, those where you want to make an impression from the moment guests arrive.
Adding personality
Despite being a heritage building, Glaziers Hall provides the opportunity for those that host events at the venue to personalise the spaces. In each room, branding can be displayed and digital signage can be commissioned to add extra visibility.
In some instances, large digital display boards can be installed, which bring dynamic visual presentations to life. These are often used during awards ceremonies, for gala dinners and during press events.
With an AV partner, we can provide access to professionals that will support with full-scale lighting and production requirements. Working with trusted suppliers, including photographers, entertainers, florists and our resident catering partner, Life’s Kitchen, means that we can be confident that the service meets with our standards and delivers the best experience for clients.
Visiting Glaziers Hall
While we often focus on the events that can be delivered at Glaziers Hall, we must also take a moment to encourage you to research the events that are coming up at the venue too. With regular functions, there is always something going on.
Whether it’s a networking session, a corporate event that focuses on a particular topic, murder mystery cocktail experiences, messy play activities with science-based learning incorporated or celebrity chefs providing dishes throughout the summer months. Every year provides something different for audiences to experience and enjoy.
The venue, while unassuming, is a brilliant example of the excitement and fun of London. Make sure to book your visit. We look forward to welcoming you to Glaziers Hall. Setting the standards for events in London. Seven unique spaces, one unforgettable experience.
