Following the government path out of lockdown

The government has now told us all their plan for re-opening, along with a draft schedule. What we want to do today is set out our plan for the coming months, showing you what we plan to do and when. Read down to see when Glaziers Hall will re-open.

Stage 1: March 8th & 29th

The first phased openings, with schools going back on the 8th and sports re-starting, are great news for many people. But it don’t allow us to open yet.

Stage 2: no earlier than April 12th

As restaurants and pubs with gardens start to open, we could, theoretically, open and host small weddings (up to 15 people). Still not opening at this time.

Stage 3: no earlier than May 17th – Half Opening

At this point, indoor events may start to be allowed. The 50% capacity rule allows us to host events up to 350 people, depending on room capacities (Click here for our Capacity Guide). However, these dates are still highly flexible. They are dependent upon the four key criteria the government has set out (vaccines still being rolled out etc.).

Any bookings you make from this date are fully flexible (subject to availability), so dates can be moved if are unable to run the event because of Covid restrictions.

We are also hosting one of our famous Thirsty Thursday events on the 27th May, so people can visit, see the 7 unique spaces we have and learn more about our grand building. We are planning a socially-distanced event, organising the event in a way that enables everyone to see the spaces. Places will be limited, so click here to book. Whether this will be your first time, or you simply haven’t visited for over a year, come along. We will form a waiting list if we get more than we can comfortably, and sensibly, hold – and then consider whether we should have another one!.

Stage 4: 21st June – Full Re-Opening Day

Assuming that everything is going smoothly (vaccines rollout continuing, general public following the rules, etc.), this is the day when Glaziers Hall will re-open completely for events. This will, of course, depend on the government removing all social distancing restrictions from this day.
Hopefully from this point we will be able to hold full capacity events, whether that is 350 people in the Banqueting Hall for an awards dinner, 12 in the Thames Room for a strategy planning meeting or 63 in the River Room for a training day. The team are here to take your enquiries now, so feel free to call or email us on 020 7403 3300 or email us using sales@glaziershall.co.uk.

Continued Vigilance

Whilst we hope that all restrictions will have been lifted from the 21st June, we will be continuing our Covid-19 commitment for some time to come. We will:

  • Leave all sanitiser stations in place, for people to use as they wish.
  • Provide separate entrances and exits for each floor.
  • Continue checking and sanitising all extraction systems regularly.

We are keeping a close eye on the guidelines and dates, and will continue to adapt our policies and procedures in respect to this.

Next Steps

Don’t delay and contact us today and lets discuss your requirements. We are offering a range of special discounts to support companies who book with us between reopening and September 2021. These include up to £3,000 of FREE AV equipment with any Hybrid Event.
We will, of course, keep you completely up to date with any changes to what we’ve said above, subject to government guidance.

Finally, we will wait, with baited breath, for the day we can fling open our doors and welcome you back in. We have missed you!
